In an attempt to achieve its goals of disseminating quality culture and keeping up with the changes in the field of quality assurance and academic accreditation, the Deanship of Development and Quality (DDQ) organized a workshop entitled "Education, Development and Training in the 21st Century" in collaboration with the Gulf Business Network Training Center and under the supervision of Pepperdine University. Participants were provided with a deeper understanding and broader perspectives on the 21st century education, learning assessment, and effective communication and how they can integrate the 21st century teaching and assessment skills into their learning curriculum. In addition, the participants were introduced to the challenges associated with the 21st Century's teaching and assessment. Further, issues related to the social and cognitive skills and how they can be represented in the curriculum in terms of developmental progress were highlighted in the workshop. Teaching staff were also trained on how they can identify these skills in students, how to assess the level of trainee skills, and then how to support learners to develop their skills. The workshop offered a mix of theory, practice, thinking, action, and opportunities to share ideas, experiences and resources with other participants. The Deanship of Development and Quality looks forward to contributing to the raising of the awareness and dissemination of the quality culture among PSAU's teaching staff. As a consequence, this may lead to an enhancement in the level of the performance across the university units which, in turn, may positively influence the university's outcomes.
