Being committed to preparing highly qualified staff in the field of Quality, the Deanship of Development and Quality organized a workshop entitled “Program Self-Study”. The workshop was conducted and presented by Professor. Mohammed Ahmed Omran, the Consultant of Deanship of Development& Quality. It was attended by twenty three male trainees.
The workshop has been initiated by introducing a short introduction about the concept of Self-Study, its objectives, conditions and the mechanisms of implementation.
The workshop was divided into three sessions. The first session tackled the self-study measurements of the academic programs. A detailed presentation of the significance and the mechanisms necessary for implementing the measurements of the self-study has been offered. The mechanisms of implementing the measurements of the self study include the mission, objectives, administration, Assurance Quality Administration, Quality improvement, learning and teaching , learning resources, students’ affairs administration, recruitment process, jobs engagement, financial planning, financial administration, utilities & equipments, relationships with the community and the scientific research.
The second session discussed the mechanisms necessary for preparing sound self-study to be consistent with the pre-defined standards. These mechanisms were introduced through providing practical training concerned with evaluating some standards, selectively chosen. The session focused on the interactive practical application.
The third session focused on the mechanisms of conduct and how to fill in the new forms of program self-evaluation (2013) issued by National Commission for Accreditation and Assessment.
